G P Milde a Scotts Mills Oregon teacher arrived in Minot with the intent to murder attorney F B Lambert after two years of threatening letters. He carried a 38 caliber pistol and was jailed on peace bonds as authorities deem him insane.

Paving Work to Begin on Main and First Streets This Week

Work on paving Main and First streets will start this week. An ex Savaging crew will arrive soon and begin preliminary work. Creosoted blocks are expected to be in place by August 1. Briquetting Plant Plans Completed By Northern Briquetting Co

The Northern Briquetting Co plans to start briquette manufacture in Minot, with a 75 ton daily capacity and room to reach 150 tons. Plans paid to architect amount to 6000 and machinery ordered. The Hebron plant, 16 tons daily, supplies local demand. The company owns over 70 acres of coal land near Burlington and aims for briquettes cheaper than hard coal.

Militia Camp Move For Co D In July Ten Day Encampment

Co. D departs Minot on July 10 for Devils Lake for the annual encampment and military maneuvers. The ten day camp will mix work and play with Cap Wheelon and officers conducting warfare courses to build discipline and stamina, promising good coffee and bunks at taps. The full roster is expected to match or exceed last year’s performance.

Minot Chautauqua Opens July 8 In Armory Tent

Minot Chautauqua will open on Tuesday July 8 and run eight days in the armory with high merit acts. Alfred Peterson the pharmacist married Miss Baird in Grand Forks and will reside on the north side after buying a home.
