Robbers Take About $500 From Taylor Drug Store
Burglars entered Taylor Drug Store on North Main Street Sunday night and pried open the rear door to reach the safe, securing nearly $500 in silver and currency. Young Nichols found the open safe at 6 am after the 2 am train was canceled, alerted police, and no clues were yet found. About $200 in checks, a twenty dollar bill, and several gold pieces were also taken.

The case, heard by Judge Murray, follows an incident when McCutcheon and Chief Smith confronted hoboes near the river, shots fired but no intent to harm. Plaza Lad Dies After Scalding Accident
Three year old Lloyd Schmitz of Plaza died at St Josephs Hospital after four weeks of suffering. He fell backward into a tub of scalding water several weeks earlier. Parents escorted the body to Plaza on Monday morning.

The body of Chas Miller, a Des Lacs farmer who died by suicide, was not shipped to the old home. Remains were interred in the city with no local mourning services as a sister and nephew arrived from Herman and left after inventory. No friends or relatives were present, so funeral services were dispensed with.
