Reported Tuesday an early morning blast attempt targeting the Campbell Mercantile safe. Police and residents searched the store but found no trace of crackers, later a safe expert noted a glycerine-like residue and an explosion rumor linked to the incident.
The Masonic Temple Building association held its annual stockholders meeting on Tuesday night with the old board reelected. They voted to discard stock books and stop selling stock. Several Masons and their wives will attend the Shriners ball in Velva Friday.
Limited through service may extend to Devils Lake North Dakota with trains from Great Northern. President Henry announced the plan though local officials have not confirmed it. A push seeks a through service to Minot to connect Nos 2 and 3, providing better east west linkages but not solving gaps between Devils Lake and other towns.
Sheriff Kelley returned from Mouse Man Canada with Albert Snyder and two others, serving 60 days for a theft of a wagon and team from Fred Rubow of Donnybrook. They allegedly drove the outfit to Nada and were found guilty of selling wheat. others await ward county transfer after current sentences. Mohall dealer T. H. A one year old named Goldie Morse, whose mother had died recently, was seriously injured while playing on hills north of her home. She fell while running and struck her head on a hard object, losing consciousness and sparking fears of a possible back injury. She was taken to her home and later to a medical facility as she regained awareness.
A large fire struck Ross destroying the News plant, the State Bank, a hotel, drug store, and multiple shops. Estimated losses reach into thousands with several properties damaged beyond repair while local firefighters battle the flames amid low water pressure. City commission approves Northwestern Cold Storage Co plan to build a reinforced concrete block facility on Belyea avenue near Soo property. Turkeys before Thanksgiving were under‑weight, with about 20,000 pounds bought. local dressing incidents at the plant are noted.
The Warren case against E G Warren, former superintendent, on alleged mileage mischarges up to 12000 will go to trial Monday. State's Attorney Nesteg expects at least seventy five witnesses and plans a verdict against Warren if charges hold, with further mention of related figures including LeSueur and Arthur Lestid LY. Also noted: E W Parker, cashier of Citizens State Bank of Tagus, was a visitor in Minot on Monday.
Judge Amidon directed a verdict for the defendant in the Rebillard case after finding the Doyon car, which fell into the sea near Devils Lake last April and killed George Chambers, was operated without headlights. The ruling holds occupants of a car responsible for an accident only if the operator failed to meet lighting laws. The decision impacts auto drivers by implying no legal standing if a car runs without lights.

A young girl, Eleanor McCormick, was injured when a cellar door fell, nearly severing her tongue, later treated with stitches after a well drilling accident.
