Lambert Killed Instantly In Sumatra Wagon Accident

Edward Lambert, 39, longtime Surrey resident, died near Sumatra Mont when a team pulling a wagon ran over him after the mack slipped. His wife Myrtl Zook Lambert survived, with funeral services held in Surrey and interment planned back home. The liveryman, bruised, assisted in the accident and Mrs Lambert witnessed the tragedy.

Diphtheria Claims Winnifred Updike at 13

Winnifred Elsie Updike thirteen died of diphtheria at the detention hospital after illness of nearly two weeks. Daughter of Mr and Mrs Bert Updike from sixteen miles south of the city, she was brought in for throat paralysis treatment as the disease worsened. She is survived by her parents and a brother.

Masked mob lynches Dillon murderer in Williston jail

Cleve Culbertson who killed Mr and Mrs Dillon and their thirteen year old daughter was dragged from Williston jail by a masked mob at four o clock Tuesday morning. He fought the crowd in his cell and was hanged and shot on the Little Muddy bridge a mile east of the city. Sheriff Erickson resisted but the crowd overpowered him and Culbertson was killed. The lynching, planned by neighbors, occurred after the group entered the jail with masks and guns. The coroner’s verdict says Culbertson died at the hands of a mob.

Loop Boosters Meet Murphy in Mouse River Loop

The Ways and Means committee of the Mouse River Loop Immigration association met at the Commercial club to consult with immigration agent J. B Murphy of the Soo. The group aims to attract settlers to the Loop district with potential Great Northern cooperation. A Glenburn meeting is planned with Major Murphy, W. E. Peck, and Gov. Devine invited, with lunch and a Glenburn band.

Woman Shot in the Leg near Ryder News

Mrs Burr Vannausdle of Cremer ville was accidentally shot in the calf by a cocked .22 rifle her husband held while going hunting. Dr Griffin dressed the wound and no serious harm occurred. Temple Court Cafeteria Robbed by Two Men

Two tough characters broke a rear window at Temple Court Cafeteria about early morning and rifled a cash register taking 11.35 dollars. A porter heard noises, was ordered to stand by as the robbers fled, leaving some currency behind. John I. Moore arrested. accused of passing checks on Minot banks with no funds. Moore, longtime Minot real estate operator, facing scrutiny for prior dealings.
