Wakefield High Band Plans Summer Concerts and Classes
Wakefield high school band director George Pixley announced three summer concerts to be held at 5 p.m. on the school campus starting July 5 with follow ups July 19 and August 2. Six weeks of instrumental instruction for organized pupil groups run daily 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday, with the B band and orchestra rotating each day. Beginning classes in all instruments may award high school credit to students who attend at least 80 percent.

Aged Pioneer John Novakoski Dies in City
John Novakoski aged nearly 100 died early Tuesday morning after a long life in the United States. He came from Poland 53 years ago, lived in Frankfort and Plover before moving to Bessemer and then to this city to reside with his son Joseph. He survived by his son, a daughter Mrs Minnie Joswiak of Chicago, 20 grandchildren and 13 children uneral services were held at St Marys church with burial in Bessemer beside his wife. Pallbearers included William John Edward Roman Novakoski and Barnard Wozniak.
