The Wakefield Michigan City Commission held a special meeting May 14 1948 to consider daylight saving time. The board approved DST from May 16 1948 midnight to September 5 1948 midnight. Building and sewer permits were discussed and approved for several residents.
The City Commission met at City Hall on May 18 1948 to revise and amend department budgets for the 1948 49 fiscal year. Commissioners Maki Kent Haapela and Mezzano attended with Mayor Cloon absent. The meeting adjourned at 10 30 p m with yeas Maki Haapoja Mezzano and Kent.
Regular meeting at City Hall Wakefield Michigan on May 19 1948 with Mayor Cleon and commissioners Haapola Kent and Maki present. Minutes from May 5 approved. Bills paid include Michigan Revenue sales tax electric energy 12461 payroll 5610.28, General Electric supplies 17935, Lake Shore Engineering -, Levo compensation March 1 7 1948, Bell toll charges 38.39, Rensselaer Valve hydrant parts, Robertson cheese cloth, Wakefield Township delinquent taxes 550.01, Westinghouse lamps gloves 44.93.
Notice that the annual city budget and appropriation for Wakefield Michigan for the year 1948-49 have been submitted and prepared for adoption. Both documents are on file at the City Clerk's office and open to inspection. A public hearing is scheduled at 8:00 p m in the Commission Room, City Hall, for objections and discussion. Dated June 17, 1948.
