City police report several arrests in Wakefield. Paul Bertall Bes semer paid a 6.70 total fine for noise violations before Judge Fred Williams. Ray Otto posted a 500 cash bond on aggravated assault charges. Gerald Aderson faced excessive noise charges with a 2.00 payment. John Juntuila paid 5.00 fine 3.70 costs and 10.00 restitution for property damage. Roger Koivu departed for Lackland Air Force Base en route to Texas to begin basic training as son of Mr and Mrs Onni Koivu.

A June 7 meeting discussed summer recreation for town youths including swimming lessons tennis and a summer softball program for ages 14 to 18. Volunteers are sought to supervise, with equipment possibly funded from park funds and use of the school playground area Fortefield for games. Miss Judy Mestnik and relatives plan a two month trip to Italy France and Switzerland.

Wakefield School Board approves bids and programs
The Wakefield Board of Education met on Monday June 12 approving minutes and bills and financials. Bids were awarded for stoker and lump coal, gasoline, and typewriter maintenance. The board moved to join the NDEA program for 1967 68 and approved a milk program and athletic equipment purchase. Landscaping will be done at Central and Wakefield High School. The next combined organization and regular meeting is set for July 3 at 7 30 p m.

Linda Susan Karling, 35, of Fort Lauderdale Florida died Friday night while visiting her brother in Cleveland Tennessee. Born September 27 1931 in Wakefield she lived in Florida the last six years worked as a medical secretary and formerly a flight attendant. City Manager H. Carr Resigns From Wakefield City Hall
The Wakefield city council accepted the resignation of City Manager Henry Carr by a 3 to 2 vote. Mayor Eugene Maki and Andrew Forte opposed. A nine day deadline to name an acting or new manager was set with ads planned in regional papers. The council also discussed a building permit ordinance and bond investments.
