Finnish Temperance Lodges Hold 48th Convention Sunday
Delegates from Wisconsin Michigan and Minnesota will attend the 48th annual Finnish National Brotherhood Temperance convention in Wakefield Sunday. Overheated iron causes damage at Brothertown home

Eighty seniors received diplomas at Wakefield High School in a Thursday evening ceremony at Wakefield Theater. Dr. Glen Blackburne delivered the principal address. Two New Acts Hit State Drivers in Legislature
Two bills affect motorists in the state. Senate Bill No. 388 with SE Act No. 181 lets a suspended licensee apply to the circuit court of the county of the accident for reinstatement review. House Bill No. 540 with HE Act No. 148 removes driving while improperly registered from automatic financial responsibility penalties, reducing the number of drivers subject to the act. About 100,000 motorists currently operate without valid licenses.

Rites Held for Mrs. Han nah Ahlquist Friday
Last rites were conducted Friday at the Lutheran church for Mrs. Han nah Ahlquist who died at the Wico location Wednesday morning. The Rev H Matero of Ironwood officiated. Born in Crangarde Dalarne Sweden in 71 years ago she emigrated to Ironwood in 1887 and moved to Wico in 1895 with her husband who died 25 years ago. Surviving are two daughters Miss Ellen of Chicago and Mrs Erick Olson of Chicago and two sons Conrad and Oscar of Wakefield.

Members of the forestry service working on the federal reforestation project will use the Halcyon club as headquarters. The building will serve as living quarters for now with bids requested for suitable office space. Provisional office space may be added. Legion Post Nominates Officers At Tue Meeting
Members of the local legion post will nominate officers for the coming year at its meeting next Tuesday. A large attendance is desired, since a discussion of contemplated legislation to be proposed at the district meeting at Marquette will be held as well as the nomination of officers.
