Bethlehem Steel faces Wagner Act ruling in labor case

National Labor Relations Board on Tuesday ruled Bethlehem Steel Co guilty of violating the Wagner Act and ordered disestablishment of company dominated employee representation plans at plants in Lac Kawanna New York Sparrows Point Maryland and several Pennsylvania sites. If upheld the decision could extend to other Bethlehem plants and mines.

Voters To Name New Officials Next Tuesday

Two commissioners a justice of the peace and a constable are to be elected at the annual election next Tuesday. Seven candidates seek the commissioner seat three seek the constable post and incumbent Anton L Bracket pursues the justice of the peace office. Polls run 7 am to 8 pm at City Hall with three voting machines. Voter interest may push turnout beyond 1600 as Kaumvinen seeks re election to public works and other candidates vie for local offices.

Duane Nelson Praised for Judgement Day Role
