Steve and Leah Napotnik bought the Elkton Mill Co building at 100 5th St for 175000 from Pamela Monger in May. They started upgrades including a handicapped accessible porch and second floor remodeling. The Shenandoah Valley Congregation of the Church of God in Christ has worship on the first floor for three years.

Blue Grass in the Park Festival At Grand Caverns

Fundraisers Planned to Help Shenandoah Boy's Service Dog

Retired Surgeon Donates 1806 Grand Caverns Map
Dr William Halliday a Nashville cardiac surgeon donated his 1806 map of Grand Caverns to the town of Grottoes after a 500 mile trip. The map dating two years after the cave’s discovery is among the few remaining originals. Bernard WeyER discovered Weyer's Cave in 1804 and the cave opened for tours in 1806 later renamed Grand Caverns in 1926. The cave is known as the oldest continually operating show cave in the United States with over 200 shield formations and a length of about 3.78 miles, though 1.65 miles are open to visitors. Halliday had visited in 1948 with the National Speleological Society and wrote about it.
