Sept 11 ceremony planned in Grottoes
In Grottoes, the Volunteer Fire Department hosts a Sept 11 tribute from noon to 3 PM at 109 Third St. A 1 PM ceremony will read the names of 343 firefighters and paramedics lost in the World Trade Center and Pentagon attacks. Guest speakers are Robbie Symons and Glenn Shaw.

Annual 340 Yard Crawl set for Saturday
Elkton hosts the sixth annual U S 340 Yard Sale on Saturday Sept 10 stretching from Grottoes through Stanley to Luray. Sponsored by the Elkton Progressive Improvement Committee EPIC invites participation with signs and yard setups. Some vendors will set up Friday with food stands at Grove Hill Community Center 8001 U S 340 north of Shenandoah and free setups at Junior Order building on Shenandoah Avenue.

Bluegrass Festival Returns to Grand Caverns Park in Grottoes
The 31st annual Bluegrass in the Park festival will run September 8 to 10 at Grand Caverns Park. Shriners from Waynesboro Harrisonburg and Luray host the event for the sixth year, with all net proceeds donated to SEE BLUEGRASS.

Elkton Area United Services will host a benefit motorcycle ride Saturday September 10 starting at 218 W. Spotswood Trail with registration at 9 a.m. for 20 per bike.
