Choices of Page County opens an office at 208 Virginia Ave Shenandoah staffed by Sarah Warf a 24 year old Appalachian Bible College graduate from Mount Hope near Beckley West Virginia. Warf will provide referrals for domestic violence homelessness and sexual abuse services with counseling and support groups and help with court information and shelter access in Luray. Debbie Dart executive director says Warf brings energy and experience to the nonprofit founded in 1986 funded by Virginia Homeless Services Program.

Crawford dies in North Carolina former Elkton meth ring operator
O'Dell Crawford 72, once tied to a multimillion dollar meth distribution ring, died Saturday in Butner North Carolina. A Kyger Funeral Home notice says Crawford was convicted in 2008 on 15 counts of distributing meth or cocaine and sentenced to 30 years. Indicted in 2007 with four relatives, all were convicted or pled guilty in 2008. He filed appeals later but none succeeded.

Weapon Options for Women course in Elkton by Kinsey
Retired police major Donna Kinsey offers a 3.5 hour program titled Weapon Options for Women at the Elkton Area Community Center. Schools unify crisis plans across Rockingham County
RCPS has completed districtwide crisis plan templates. Transportation supervisor and Safe School Focus Group member Jeremy Mason updated the School Board that all 23 schools now have crisis plans in place, following January efforts to standardize safety procedures.
