In Elkton, Mayor Wayne Printz and challenger Randell Snow clash over converting the Elkton Area Community Center into town offices versus renovating the municipal building or building anew. The dispute centers on mold, cost estimates, and whether parking improvements should precede any permanent move, with residents noting the center houses police space and other town services.

Lowe seeks Shenandoah Council seat amid past felony inquiry

Three town council seats are open in Shenandoah as Lowe runs unopposed with incumbents Hinkle and Pierce. The 21 year old faced a 1990 Tennessee felony conviction for statutory rape without force, with questions over expungement and eligibility. County officials say Lowe now meets all local qualifications and that past issues should not affect his candidacy.
