Rainy Relays Kickoff Lights Up Cancer Fight in Harrisonburg
Despite rain and cool temps, Pam Taylor of Elkton joined hundreds at the Rockingham County Fairgrounds for the Relay for Life of Harrisonburg Rockingham. Annual Spring Festival Opens Wednesday At Blue Ridge Park
ELKTON The 24th annual Spring Festival begins Wednesday at Blue Ridge Park north of town near Shenandoah Avenue and U.S. 340. Hosted by the Junior Order of United American Mechanics the event runs Wednesday through Saturday with a carnival midway opening at 6 p.m. on weekdays and 1 p.m. Saturday. Family night is Wednesday with armbands at 17 dollars. Armbands go on sale 2-5 p.m. Saturday for 15 dollars. Regular price is 20 dollars. Musical talent will be announced.

Mountain bike trails planned at Massanutten resort
Brad Stone of 402 Trails leads an eight member crew to build six new mountain bike trails on Massanutten Mountain. Two initial routes near the lower and upper lifts will span 225 and 1100 vertical feet respectively, with four trails ready by July and two more by September. The project also revamps the 1997 World Cup downhill trail.
