Navy Seaman Apprentice Brandon L. Roach son of Bri an A. Roach of Elkton and Sarah J. Dean of Mount Crawford recently graduated from Recruit Training Command Great Lakes Ill with early promotion for outstanding performance. Training covered naval customs first aid firefighting water safety survival and shipboard and aircraft safety plus physical fitness. The boot camp capstone Battle Stations tests skills and teamwork to embody honor courage and commitment.
Allison R. Smith of McGaheysville is among 87 students on the Mary Washington University president's list for the spring semester in Fredericksburg. The senior earned a perfect 4.0 GPA to qualify.
A trio of Elkton residents, Wesley Breeden, John Goulart, and Jeffrey Wayne Lantz Jr., were among Bridgewater College’s 384 graduates on May 17. Breeden earned cum laude with a business administration degree, Goulart received a biology degree, and Lantz graduated cum laude with a biology degree.

Jacob Q. Garber and Helena G. Hopkins earned a spring dean's list at Coastal Carolina University in Conway South Carolina. Freshmen, Garber majors marine sciences and Hopkins majors marketing, with GPAs at least 3.25 to qualify.
Jackson A. Dixon of Elkton and Zachery L. Mills of Elkton were among 317 graduates at Virginia Military Institute in Lexington on May 16. Dixon earned a bachelor of arts in international studies. Mills earned a bachelor of science in mechanical engineering and received Distinguished Graduate and Marine Corps Commission honors.
Robert Christopher Failes of Harrisonburg earned dean's list status at Clemson University for the spring semester. The parks recreation and tourism management major achieved a grade point average between 3.5 and 3.99 to qualify.
Sarah Cameron of Massanutten was named to the dean's list for the spring semester at West Virginia Wesleyan College in Buckhannon, West Virginia. She earned a grade point average between 3.5 and 3.9 to make the list.
