Imaginative Summer Sparks Creativity at Elkton Schools
Elkton Elementary and River Bend Elementary students joined art teacher Martha Yankey for a week of hands on activities at EES. They formed clay dragons painted bright colors and crafted paper sandwiches inspired by Sam's Sandwich. Assistants Mary Liz Humphrey and Katie Yankey helped as students glued ingredients onto vertical sandwich prototypes for display. Thursday capped the week with a tee shirt day where students signed each other’s shirts.

Elkton historic downtown walk led by Casey Billhimer
About a dozen participants joined a 1 hour 20 minute walking tour of Elkton's downtown area led by Casey Billhimer. He presented an illustrated brochure on 18 nearby buildings and narrated from the bur oak tree by the Jennings House to the J T Heard building and back to town hall. Next month a Civil War horse and wagon tour is planned by the Elkton Historical Society.
