Scratch ACBL rises on speed and new signings
The Elkton Blue Sox, led by manager Loker, overhaul the roster with additions including Dominican-born Robert Bautista and veteran Mark Arrington. Center fielder Terrell Thompson and Elkton high graduate Joe Burris join after stints elsewhere, emphasizing speed to boost the county league title bid. Thompson leads with 22 steals, while teammate Laker fuels a .354 average with four home runs. The team faces a grind unlike summer leagues and aims to finish what they started after last year’s playoff exit.
