Shenandoah Volunteer Fire Company lands FEMA grant
Shenandoah Volunteer Fire Company secures a 255000 grant from FEMA, the largest in its history. Fire Chief K L Jenkins says the grant requires a 12770 local share while FEMA covers 242630. The department will receive 26 SCBA units 61 face pieces and an air compressor with delivery expected in about three months.

Adventurers Club to reward Elkton students with resort tickets
The Adventurers Club will award Massanutten Resort tickets to Elkton area students who improve grades during the 2014-15 school year. Funds come from the Gwathemy Memorial Trust, Massanutten Property Owners Association, and Great Eastern Resort Corp. At age 87 J L Hopkins III buys a historic two story log house at 185 Conn Road. He plans renovations on what locals call the oldest building in town, once home to Kathleen Hopkins Hamman and her husband C E Hamman who operated a dentistry with a dentist chair found in an alcove on the first floor.

Exotic pacu fish hooked in Shenandoah River
