Local organic farm grows with apprentices and CSA
Radical Roots Farm run by the O Neills trains apprentices who live on site, receive meals and a stipend in exchange for farm help. The eight to 12 item weekly produce baskets run June through September serve an 80-member community supported program delivered to the Friendly Food City Co-Op. Lee O Neill handles bookwork and market deliveries to Harrisonburg. The farm cultivates 50 to 80 crops and stresses that the organic label brings integrity and a positive farming experience as the local food movement expands.
