Park fee hikes face limited public pushback in phase plan
Park officials say feedback from 2014 public comments was largely supportive though some disagreed. Eighty percent of added revenue funds park improvements such as trail rehab, visitor centers exhibits, water systems, and scenic vistas, with the rest supporting other national parks. Officials note federal funding has been flat for a decade, making the increases essential to sustain projects and reach projected gains near 2.5 million yearly.
