Surprise retirement party marks Campbell's county service
Page County Treasurer Penny Gray hosted a surprise retirement party for Campbell at Grove Hill Community Center on December 5. Gray praised Campbell's decades of public service, noting his growth in real estate parcels from 7,000 to 24,000 and the shift to biannual tax bills. Campbell will hand over to Becky Smith, plans to farm, and spend time with family Tina Comer and Lena Campbell, plus grandchild Whitney.

Powers touts alkaline Kangen water in McGaheysville
Ken Powers, 64, promotes Kangen water claiming alkaline, non acidic properties used in Japanese hospitals. He opened a water shop near U.S. 33 and Island Ford Road after a California preacher introduced him to the product in 2014. Powers sells machines costing 2380 to 3980 with a 559 or 700 deposit option and offers free samples for a month. He cites health anecdotes and markets the water as aiding hydration and disease prevention. Hours are limited and contact numbers provided.
