Letter to the Editor on Elkton's debt and cemetery funds
Lee Dearing of Elkton argues that the town with under 3,000 residents carries more than 7.2 million in debt and faces further obligations. He criticizes council members for pursuing budget increases while cemetery funds should be protected. He notes the cemetery commission works unpaid to maintain a dignified burial ground and cites Randell Snow’s 2004 remark about unused cemetery funds, urging efficiency over new spending.
