Steve Kegley, a 28 year veteran, credits pride in the department for the fried chicken and public service that drew crowds to Mountain View Park for the Lawn Party and 12th Summer Bash Raffle. Wanda Rittenhouse chairs the fundraiser with Tim Morris, benefiting training for 80 volunteers, station upkeep at 109 Third St, and equipment. Raffle prizes included guns cash and a 2015 Chevrolet Camaro. Fireworks carnival rides and Tommy Wood kept attendees entertained as tickets sold out five days early.

Shenandoah Assembly of God breaks ground on pavilion
Shenandoah Assembly of God pastor Carter Dean says the church plans a four phase building program. A 5,000 square foot pavilion is under construction at 311 ComerTown Road. Ground breaking occurred the first week of July after six years of fundraising and planning. Eddie Vaughn leads church efforts.

Heritage group seeks monument for displaced Shenandoah residents

Elkton Trail Signs Aid Elkton Trails Users

Ki Aikido moves to Elkton Plaza after 20 years
Brian Kelley, 67, longtime downtown Elkton martial arts instructor, moved Ki Aikido from the Loading Dock on Fifth Street to Elkton Plaza near Dollar General. He runs the Ki Society Aikido with Iaido instruction, often training against imagined partners and occasionally with wooden swords. Kelley previously owned six of nine Elkton Milling Co. buildings.
