New director named for Elkton Area Community Center
Elkton residents Mark Pedersen named ACC director succeeding Allison Morris. Pedersen began April 18 with a 42000 annual salary after council approval. Morris led ACC since 2006. position created by grant. Meeting also moved forward on zoning rules for transitional living centers with special exception permits in R-5 and R-6 areas despite plans not to open such a facility in town.

Rocky Mount Fire grows to 3000 acres in Shenandoah Park
The Rocky Mount Fire in Shenandoah National Park swelled to about 3,000 acres by Tuesday morning, up from 500 acres the day before, with park fire information officer Lisa Wilkolak noting containment area limits. Tactical Walls revives Gen ie plant in Shenandoah after years idle
Tactical Walls began production at the 58,000 square foot Genie plant in Shenandoah's north side in late March after four partners bought the building from Jeffery P. Vaughn in February.
