Elkton weighs transitional living centers plan amid denial
Elkton plans to add ordinance language defining a family and limiting residents per bedroom while a spokesman for Pham Chopra says Akal Institute will not open transitional living centers in town limits. Planning Commission backed the changes 5-0 in first reading. council to consider further steps with April 18 meeting. Chopra noted ongoing property analysis in Rockingham County, none within Elkton limits.

Elkton considers new development on west side near U S 33
At a council work session Councilman Harry Armbruster said Bill Neff plans two buildings on a 2.1 acre triangle site across from Burger King. A 1 900 square foot shop and a smaller unit are planned with a tenant for the second building. A pharmacy was once talked about for the Elkton Plaza area. Armbruster noted a boundary adjustment to bring the land inside town limits pending a FY2017 budget. Water and sewer costs will be addressed.
