Police hold four Black men after a mob tried to enter a church. A man named Barret was killed, reportedly slain with a razor while trying to rescue a white girl insulted by the mob.
Chester Williams and John Henry, described as from down Florida way, were ordered to leave town within one hour or serve eighty three days in the county jail after a Baltimore & Ohio Railroad detective arrested them for attempting to ride the rods.
