In Baltimore the National Equal Rights League will hold its convention on October 22. The event promotes ending federal race segregation and removing the segregation party from power under the campaign slogan Abolish Federal Race Segregation and Remove the Segregation Party from Power.
W B Black of the Montgomery Alabama Chamber of Commerce reports in Cincinnati that employment agencies are sending large numbers of Black workers north in carload lots. He notes hundreds are leaving the Montgomery area for unknown destinations, with one train car reported. He cites oppression as the motive, and says the migration is familiar.
Houston policewoman Eva Bacher denounces shimmy and jazz as Bolshevik corruption of society. She vows to curb the "hopping Bolsheviks" on dance floors, criticizing modern shaking as unbecoming. She urges a waltz and two step club to restore grace and decency.
