Shooting in quarrel wounds two in Clinton Street yard
Thomas Fane of 547 Clinton street fired during a quarrel with After McAltine of 417 Clinton street. The bullet missed McAltine and hit Shurelta Porter, 29, and Edward Porter, 15, in their left legs as they stood in their front yard. Police Patrolmen Hayes and Mummaw arrested Fane and McAltine for investigation.

Hero Elevator Boy Delivers Tenants From Norfolk Fire
Andrew Moring a Negro elevator boy at the Norfolk building on Eighth and Elm streets made a dozen trips in his car into a smoke filled fire to rescue hysterical tenants and carry them to safety. He entered Flat 103 on the tenth floor and carried Mrs Imma Mars aged 50 to safety. He risked his life repeatedly to save white residents as flames raged around the elevators.
