Happy Boys Return From Glenmary Camp In Cincinnati
Seventy five young colored boys returned to Cincinnati from Glenmary Fenwick camp in the Western Hills. Father seo M Walsh of Holy Trinity Church organized the program for the benefit of city colored boys. The two week stay boosted weight gain from one and a half to six pounds per boy and depleted the four week commissary fund. A free clinic run by Good Samaritan Hospital treated undernourishment and tonsil issues. Some boys stayed an extra two weeks. Gifts totaling 300 dollars from Archbishop McNicholas and Knights of Columbus supported the effort. The boys, from Holy Trinity, St Ann and public schools, faced a daily schedule of athletic activity and rest under two colored seminarians. Contributions are welcome to sustain the program for non Catholic participants as well.
