President Moton tells the National Negro Business League in Philadelphia that publishers have fought for rights and justice, built business avenues, and deserve public support. He urges subscriptions, ads, and a Negro newspaper in every home to expand service and stimulate commerce.
The Sterling Hotel attracted many guests and was described as a Mecca for Masons from cellar to garret. It hosted numerous balls and social events and the Crescent Club was a scene of beauty and joy forever, highlighting Cincinnati’s vibrant social life.
Judge John A. Caldwell imposes life imprisonment on John Smith, 48 year old Negro chauffeur, for an attack on two white girls. Smith admitted guilt while defense attorneys accused police and local officials of a conspiracy to convict.
