King Solomon's Consistory No 20 A A S will convene Sunday May 1 1921 for important business. All members are urged to attend at 1 30 PM.
Grand Commander Edward M. Parsons of Ohio Knights Templar will visit Simon Commandery No. 1 K T on official business at the stated conclave Friday evening May 13 1921. Commandery will be inspected and all Sir Knights must appear in full Templar regulation attire.
A large class received the HE. A. Degree at True American Lodge No. 2 on Monday evening April 18 1921. The Committee on Revision of the Code will meet in mid May in Dayton Ohio with members Chas L Porter D G M Day ton John H Bowles Columbus John H Johnson Gr Histrio grapher Cincinnati. The committee, appointed during Grand Master Howard T Greer’s term, invites brethren to suggest changes. Fred H King from Indianapolis is improving. Remember the building pledge and contribute soon.
The Jewish Passover and Feast of the Unleavened Bread fill the Church of God and Saints of Christ auditorium with vast attendance. Bishop J. M. Grove and Bishop Dickerson lead as grand centers of attraction while Chief Evangelist S. W. P. Harper presides. Singing and ceremonies inspire strong religious fervor among pilgrims and residents.
A public welfare effort led by Mrs. Mabel Ferree established the Evangeline Home with the Salvation Army to treat worthy women. Adjutant Wright oversees a capable staff and hospital annex where many operations have been performed, aiding numerous girls and reputable citizens in distress.
The Grand Goblin of seven states addressed Cincinnati Klan camps on Friday night and helped initiate about 40 new members. He urged strict loyalty to law and constitution and warned against critics who label the group as lawless. The speech critiqued white supremacy’s decline and defended the Klan’s supposed aims.
Atlanta reports a cascade of killings tied to John H Williams and associates on a Jasper County plantation. Witnesses told federal agents of a Negro child slain for interfering with a cook. The tally reaches 18 alleged murders, with Miss Sarah Weaver confirming farm conditions and slavelike brutality during 1919 influenza care.
A letter to the editor discusses Billy Sunday the baseball evangelist praising his bold preaching while opposing the idea of eternal torment. The writer asserts no eternal hell but two hells: the tomb for all and a second death for those who reject truth after redemption. Aaron K. Frick signs at 984 West Dighth street O. L. 8.
A mass meeting is set for Sunday at 5 o clock at the Ninth Street Branch Y M C A to support Cincinnati’s Community Chest Drive. Speakers include A E Anderson, chairman for 1921, and C M Bookman, director of the Council of Social Agencies. A glee club will perform in the city’s first appearance here. Social workers, agency boards, and officers will attend. the general public is invited.
