Little Professor of Piney Woods Builds Dream School
Laurence Jones, a Missouri born, Iowa educated Black man in Mississippi, transforms a ruined cabin and $1.65 into Piney Woods School. He gathers white and Black support, floods of small gifts, and a thousand-strong mass meeting to create a lasting educational institution for Black youths in the Piney Woods.
