New Anti Epileptic Drug Hibicon Described
A new anti epileptic compound Hibicon or Hibicon chloroethylphenamide was described at the Federation of American Societies for Experimental Biology meeting. Dr Ben Harned Lederle Laboratories reported the drug shows promise against grand mal epilepsy and is well tolerated orally when other anticonvulsants fail.

Widow of GOP leader dies after hospital stay
Louise Amthauer Schneller, 70, widow of Hamilton County Republican leader Fred Schneller, died Saturday at Holmes hospital. A longtime public servant, she lived at 3325 Burnet Avenue and led the Schneller Agencies insurance firm. She also served as precinct committeewoman after her husband’s death and had a career in the city clerk's office. She is survived by a brother, Frederick W. Amthauer of Lexington, Kentucky.

Peace Crusade Appeal Over Patterson Acquittal
The Justice Department filed notice of appeal of Judge Luther Youngdahl's acquittal of William L. Patterson head of the Civil Rights Congress on a contempt of Congress charge. CRC accuses the government of a political lynching while condemning inaction on murders of Harry and Harriett Moore and other lynching cases. Patterson's 1951 trial ended in a hung jury.
