The Cincinnati Branch NAACP publishes a critique of a World Outlook story about a colored woman exposing admiration and racist provocation. The piece links the tale to segregation praise and notes school leaders endorsing restricted property purchases by colored citizens.
Alfred Segal portrays Jennie Porter guiding Kate, a Harriett Beecher Stowe pupil from the South, through a Cincinnati pageant. Porter teaches wholesome pride, self care, and belief in their race, transforming Kate into a confident beauty and symbol of collective destiny.
Jennie Porter leads the Harriet Beecher Stowe School, a citywide effort with a park, farm, fifteen clubs, a community center, and a social service bureau. She built a mixed school, recruited dedicated teachers, and expanded programs to clothe, feed, and educate Black pupils, earning respect and pride in the community. The farm project, park programs, and neighborhood outreach extend beyond school hours, with support from white donors and local officials.
Dean Pickens, noted orator, will challenge Jim Crow doctrine of segregation and disfranchisement. Admission is free as the NAACP promotes unity and awareness amid controversy over the Supreme Court endorsement of Jim Crow streetcar policy from here to Fort Mitchell.
Pittsburgh Kansas April 26 an unidentified Black man died in a related incident to an attack on Sylvia Brown 15 near town after a mob ripped apart Mulberry Kansas claim. The girl Sherry Milton Gould held on the mob for an hour then brought the wounded girl to the jail. The Black man allegedly identified the victim before she identified him., etc.
Mrs Chas Hillmas of Latenia has been very ill. Mrs M C Moore of Dayton visited her this week.
