Baccalaureate Services Set Across Middletown Churches
Graduates will be honored at Union baccalaureate services this week with several special events. Sixteen Middletown High graduates will receive New Testaments at the 11 a.m. First Congregational Church worship. A union service for area high school seniors opens at 8 p.m. at First Congregational. Missionary guest speakers include Mrs. Eva Howard and Mrs. Joyce Seckinger with the Squires providing music. A 10 a.m. service at North Congregational Church features speaker Lawrence E. Hulseapple on nurturing roots. A farewell for Major and Mrs. Clarence Graham is planned for 7 p.m. Sunday at the Salvation Army with Capt. Baxendale presiding.

The Trinity Assembly of God Church Middletown will host its annual Kids Krusade starting Monday with 7 pm meetings through June 28. Dean Snyder of Northeast Bible Institute Greenlane Pa will present Hold High Your Torch using puppets stories magic and songs for children ages four to 14. He will also speak at Sunday service.

Ridgebury minister to lead Ridgebury and St Pauls United Churches
The Rev. Carter L. Lykins is appointed today by Bishop Lloyd C. Wicke as minister and associate of Ridgebury and St. Pauls United Methodist Churches. The appointment occurs at the New York annual conference session in Bridgeport, Conn. Lykins, born in Ashland Kentucky, holds degrees from Morris Harvey College Vanderbilt Theological Seminary and Scarritt College. He has served in West Virginia Kentucky Tennessee Pennsylvania and New York and will preach his first sermon Sunday in Ridgebury. He and his wife, three children, will reside in Ridgebury.
