No progress in talks by Vietnam delegation leader
North Vietnam’s chief spokesman Nguyen Thanh Le said no progress has been made in Paris talks, criticizing U S air raids as escalation. Averell Harriman, the U S negotiator, cited some movement but left Paris for New York wedding. Dean Rusk avoided disputing Clifford’s guarded optimism. Harriman planned to return July 1, with no break in discussions anticipated.
