Jury selected for DeGroat rape trial in Goshen
Eleven men and one woman were chosen for the Orange County Court jury to hear the first degree rape case of Lawrence DeGroat, 29, of Middletown. The trial follows a guilty plea by co-defendant James Parker, 27, also of Middletown, who admitted first degree attempted sexual abuse and faces sentencing July 28. Both men were charged with raping a Middletown girl last November 29.
