Countywide police force seen as inevitable, but hard to build

He urged a county training unit, a narcotics/detective squad, and potential consolidation through mergers or contracting. Funding for a county coordinator could come from federal revenue sharing.

State safety course allows youths to pilot boats alone
The state sponsors a safety course that entitles youths aged 10 to 16 to operate mechanically propelled boats by themselves in state waters.
Tuxedo Free Library Summer Programs and Blood Drive
The Tuxedo Free Library opens a summer program for children beginning June 25 with a puppet making demonstration for fifth grade and up at 3 p.m. Registration is at the library. A summer movie series starts June 27 at 7 p.m. in the children's room and runs every other Wednesday. A book discussion on adolescent literature is set for July 2, July 30, and August 20 in the children's room. A blood drive is planned.
