Liberty teacher pact sets 6300 base pay
The Liberty Board of Education and the faculty association ratified a contract under the Taylor Law. Starting salary for a first year teacher with a bachelor’s degree is 6300 dollars. The agreement names the association as exclusive representative for certificated staff except top administrators. It runs through 1970 with 24 month renewals and requires monthly meetings, a 15 minute pre class and 30 minute after dismissal duty period, class size capped at 25, and limits on teaching load and subject breadth for secondary teachers.
