Myrtle Blanche Johnston 34 daughter of Mrs Rosa Johnston died suddenly at a local hospital early Monday morning after a major operation the prior Thursday. A Cheyenne county native born on a farm near Dalton she studied at rural school Sidney high school University of Nebraska and Iowa State College with further postgraduate work at Columbia New York. She was active in home economics and曾 editor for DeBoth Cooking School in New York City. Johnston had returned to Sidney to visit family on Sunday June 4 and planned a trip to South America before she fell ill.

Mud Springs Restored as Nebraska Historical Shrine
Mud Springs frontier outpost abandoned since 1877 was restored as a lasting historical shrine by the Mud Springs Woman's Club. A plot marking the old Mud Springs station site was deeded to the state to permanently honor one of Nebraska's outstanding historical spots. The springs drew gold seekers in 1849 and later served pioneers on the California and Mud Springs routes avoiding Ash Hollow.

Settler Hans Christian Anderson Dies at Daughter’s Home
Hans Christian Anderson 87 who settled in Nebraska after emigrating from Denmark died early Monday at his daughter Mrs Eugene Davis home in Sidney after six months of declining health. He was baptized Lutheran served in the Danish navy married Karen Marie Christenson in 1887 and arrived in America the same year. He lived on a northeast of Sidney farm then moved to Sidney in 1920. Mrs Anderson died in 1934 and since then he lived with his daughter. Funeral at the Methodist church Wednesday at two with Rev J J Sheaff officiating. Interment to follow.
