Farmers Seek Action Over Rabbit Damage Near Chappell
At the county meeting farmers from south of Chappell along Lodge Pole creek pressed for a rabbit campaign to protect winter wheat. About one third of 3400 employers contributing to Nebraska unemployment compensation reserve fund will save an estimated 1,106,000 dollars once the experience rating plan takes effect January 1, Labor Commissioner Kinney announced. To qualify, benefits must have been payable from their reserve in the prior calendar year and total contributions after benefits deducted must equal 7.5 percent of the 1939 total payroll. The reserve account, minus deducted benefits, must exceed five times the total benefits paid out during 1969.
