Cheyenne county farmers can obtain high quality seed for winter wheat as a county campaign arrives. Four Negroes Freed By Kimball Officers
Two men, Clinton Brown and George Moore, were released by Kimball officers for lack of evidence after being held in connection with a theft at a Kimball restaurant. Sheriff Schulz had arrests made at Sidney and the car was checked before Kimball officers questioned the pair who denied involvement. The cafe owner said the two were the only patrons in the dining area when a purse containing $6 to $10 disappeared.

Pioneer Resident of Bridgeport Is Dead
Woodson Gilliam Land, 83, a western Nebraska resident for over 50 years, died at his Bridgeport home Friday. Funeral services were held at Bridgeport Presbyterian Church at 2 30 P M Sunday with Rev Howard Osborne officiating. Burial followed in Forest Lawn Cemetery. Born June 1 1856 he married in Cambridge Missouri Feb 18 1885 and moved to western Nebraska July 1887 homesteading south of Bridgeport. The couple moved into Bridgeport in 1914. Survived by his widow Fanny and a brother J B Land of Slater Missouri.

ACA Office Faces Rush as Sidney Expands for Wheat Loans
The ACA office in Sidney Nebraska, atop Cheyenne County’s wheat production, is expanding to handle a flood of federal wheat loans. Officials expect over 1500 warehouse receipts this year, with about 300 farm storage inspections and ongoing acreage allotment work for the 1940 program affecting roughly 1200 farmers.
