Constance Bennett leads the cast in Our Betters shown at the Saenger theatre. The film, adapted from W. Somerset Maugham and produced by RKO Radio, features Bennett as London's socialite hostess and probes love and money with witty dialogue and polished performances.
The Bunay club reorganized March 13 at Miss Jewelle Johnsons home with officers elected. A second meeting is set for Mary Ethel Clancys home this Monday. Rev W M Fore announces a March 27 31 B Y P U study course with six subjects taught by teachers from Mobile and Whistler. Proceeds from the play Old Fashion Mother go to First Baptist Church.
Bay Minette social note: Mr. and Mrs. W. R. Beckton and others motored to New Orleans last weekend. Mr. Beckton stayed to join the U S forest service at the Southern Forest Experiment station. A two table contract bridge party at Mrs. E D Kings featured high score by Mrs. Hicks and refreshments. Mobile visitors Sossaman, Frank Boykin and Jere Austin were in town for business.
Mrs J L Mallini and infant Doris Ann stay with her parents on Fifth street while Mr Mallini is in New Orleans. Mrs Ida Curtis visits her son in Mobile and plans a trip to Vicksburg to visit her sister. Ethel Ramsey Chapter Sewing circle meets Thursday at 2 30 with Mrs Maude Johnstone in Mobile. Horace Byrd family moved to Mobile on Old Shell road. Navis Restu of Stadium road toured New Orleans this week. Friends note John A Green’s ongoing illness at home.
Leonard Brown from New Orleans visited W. A. Brown’s home and is noted as an old officer on the Scotsberg liner. The W M 8 of the Methodist church met at Mrs. W. P. Owen’s home. Isabel Smart left for Thomaston. Mr. and Mrs. R. L. Walters traveled to Biloxi due to a family death. Sixth graders from Gorgas and Prichard played baseball with Prichard winning. Myrtis Kelly of Judson College visited her parents. Mrs. R. L. Prine spent the day with Mrs. Aubrey Price.
Wilmer officers of the Woman's Missionary Society will meet Monday night at the Methodist parsonage with Mrs. J. C. Withers. Regular services are scheduled at the Baptist church today by Brother Evans. Four more services remain before the attendance contest closes. Prayer meeting Wednesday night drew 188 attendees with 104 on Miss Mabel Fords.
The Crescent theater presents a film about the Doris Kenyon murder trial showcased in Tiffany Productions The Man Called Back. The piece discusses English law origins and courtroom seating rules, noting bouquets for judges as a bygone custom still observed. Conrad Nagel co stars in the lead male role.

Mrs. Taylor of Mobile spent several days with Mrs. Susie Farris last week end as Dr. G. C. McCrary and family hosted guests including Miss Betty Gash.
In March Young Judea month, Azalea City Judeans stage Sorority and A Rural Belle at 8 pm with an intermission musical program. Directed by Miss Evelyn Robinson the event showcases local clubs, 40 members in Mobile units sponsored by Miss Sylvia Weis, Miss Ida Levanthal, and Sammie Maisel.
Mrs Ed Fields hosts Annie Kate Beville and three friends at 3:30 for a bridge tea at South Georgia Avenue apartment. The gathering features dogwood and calendulas decor, two tables of bridge, and a silver bon bon dish for the guest of honor with salad and dessert served.
Music for morning at Government Street Presbyterian includes prelude and Mozart offertory with Miss Isabel Pope directing and Mrs H H Miller at the organ. The Alpha Beta Lambda Sigma club held an eight to eleven PM games night in Derby hall with Miss Anna B. Fox as chairman. Participants played bridge and jig-saw puzzles. entrance prize drawn by Miss Hermione Curiel. Elizabeth Donivan won first prize a cake by Ruth Stephens. second went to Alice Dyas. third to Claire Stoll. The event thanked 3co Cola Bottling for pencils and First National Bank for score pads.
Mrs Roycroft entertained Bayou Bridge club members at her Bayou la Barre home Thursday for a St Patrick theme party. Three tables of bridge were played in a spring floral setting with green accents and St Patrick imagery on tallies. A sweet course of iced custard and cake followed by coffee and salted wafers completed the event.
