FSA Plans Harvest Aid Amid Nebraska Release Talks

The Farm Security Administration described new policies to extend loans for 1939 harvests in Nebraska and Jefferson County. Examinations Set for Jefferson County at Fairbury Schedule

The 1989 July 5 teachers examinations for Jefferson County will be held only at Fairbury High School. Tests include Arithmetic, Mental Arithmetic, Bookkeeping, History and Civics, English Composition and Grammar, Physiology and Hygiene, Public School Music, Theory and Art, Nebraska Elementary Course of Study, Reading and Orthography, General Geography and Agriculture, Geography of Nebraska, Promenadhip and Drawing. Subjects begin at 8:00 AM and run through 4:30 PM with room assignments noted.

All students in districts seeking free high school tuition must file applications with the County Superintendent’s office by July 1 each year. The levy for free tuition is set by the county board based on the number of qualifying applicants.

Attendees included Mrs Will Clarkove and Mr and Mrs Morris Compton with Rosa Bynahan hosting a Sunday birthday celebration for her mother Mrs J Malady. The event featured a cake and home baked goods.

Speed Boat Races Set for July 4 on Lake Babcock near Columbus

Speedboat races planned for July 4 on Lake Babcock two miles north of Columbus draw interest as organizers expect at least 10 000 spectators. Dee Riche leads entries for the start-off race at 1 30 P M rain or shine, with a casting contest at 9 30 A M and expert surf board riders performing between races. The 43 piece Loup Valley Band from Ord will entertain the crowd.

Kingsle Dam dredge preps for pamping ops near Ovsatala

Report to K Sewell Wingfield and John A Bruce cites upstream dredge work at Kingsle Dam near Ovsatala.
