John Thornburg and wife and Hazel Hawk of Western were Steele City visitors last Sunday. Mrs Henrichs and Mrs Seng visited this week with John Seng and W D Heady and wife. W C Palmer and wife and Mrs S P Deems spent Sunday in Hebron at the Wallace Palmer home. Subscriptions to the News were renewed in the past week: Clark McCurdy, R E Adams and George Graff, Fay Shottenkirk and wife, and Mary Evelyn of Beatrice visited V Lester home Saturday and Sunday. Howard Saddix and wife of Fairbury visited Tuesday evening at the home of the former’s parents. Fay Clark and family and Mrs Ida M Clark left Sunday for Akron Ohio, about two weeks. The Misses Bernice and Esther Gretzinger, Eva Outhier and Mildred Kenning left Sunday for Peru for summer school.

A. J. Brabee and family of Lincoln visited Tuesday and returned with Mrs. H. W. Haddix and son Robert. Mrs. George Porter of Marysville and Mrs. Joe Carve with children from Grand Island visited the Bundy home. Mrs. Andrew Phelps is recovering well after a Saturday hospital operation in Odell. Alumni Banquet Honors Steele City Class of 1930 Guests

Seventy alumni attended the annual Steele City high school banquet on Friday evening June 6. Howard Deems hosted. toast topics followed a balloon ride theme with Pilot Minnie Webling and other roles. Rev J E Filinger led invocation. decorations featured lavender and gold. menu included fruit cocktail, meat loaf, mashed potatoes, corn, hot rolls, and ice cream.

Farmers Kiwanis Excursion Promises Kansas Visit

The Farmers Excursion sponsored by the Fairbury Kiwanis club will take a ten coach special train to Manhattan Kansas on June 12.
