Wheat checks received in Jefferson County drive cash disbursements
A total of 1085 wheat checks amounting to 75905.20 were received by the Jefferson County Wheat Production Control Association during Christmas holidays. W.C Andreas notes the remittance reflects 56.4 percent of the first payment and most checks require only affidavits for landlords signs. Checks are distributed at the county courthouse under treasurer George W. Arnold with committee chairmen. A single exception allows delivery to a family member on a written request. The largest check is 726.40 with an extra 255 for the final 1933 crop payment. parity guarantees for 1934 and 1955 crops suggest similar reductions. A separate note announces L. M. Cavett, formerly with the Diller Record, now heads the paper.
