Thanksgiving at Endicott and family visits report

Mrs Mahoney spends days at Ora Austin home while Elmer Janssen works for Mr Carrico in hospital. Novotnys visit Odell Sanday to see their hospitalized son. Meyers help dress geese and ducks. J Malady and Henry Meyers host a large Thanksgiving dinner marking 23 years of celebration. Vera Janssen returns from Crete to join the family. Local residents visit relatives and attend Thanksgiving events

Dr. I. N. Morgan traveled to Omaha on Thursday while C. F. Scharmann visited his son Chester Sunday. Carl Fahrenwald and wife were Diller visitors Tuesday evening and E J Wells family celebrated Thanksgiving with their hosts. Odell physician Dr. C. E. Rice called locally Thursday morning as Gayle Garber of Alexandria spent the weekend with her mother Mrs. Bertha Garber. Mrs. Gus Metz of Washington Kansas stayed at Dr. Morgan’s hospital last week. Barton Vance of Firth Nebraska with Lowell Blair and wife for a weekend visit. W C T U will meet at Mrs. E. B. Nelson’s homes Friday afternoon. Charley Webber wife and daughter Pauline of Hollenberg visited J Webber Tuesday. Genevieve and Marvin Drake returned from Peru for holiday vacation. Carl Barber and wife entertained at C H Wilcox’s home Thanksgiving Day. Mrs. May Lowe and son Dwight visited Indianola Nebraska last week over Thanksgiving. Local Residents Return From Holidays Trips

Ray Wells and wife came home Tuesday after a three week vacation in Greeley Colorado with Mrs. Wells’ father Mr Benoit. Eunice Garber returned from Lincoln General Hospital Sunday and is recovering after her operation. Alfred Drexier and family drove to Barneston last Thursday for Thanksgiving with friends, a party of about fifty attendees.

Thanksgiving Guests At Adams Nebraska

Mr and Mrs Howard Deems of Pawnee City with Mrs 5S P Deems and Mrs Wallace Palmer of Steele City visited the Jim Hargie road family at Adams Nebraska. Joe Davis and wife left for Omaha where the wife entered University Hospital for an operation Sunday morning. The operation was successful. W C Palmer and wife hosted Thanksgiving guests including 8S P Deems Mrs Forsha Howard Deems and family Wall ace Palmer and family and Chester Seharmann.

Thanksgiving Visit Near Washington Kansas

E Pritachi and family joined Mr and Mrs Joan Webber and family for Thanksgiving. Alice Webber went home with relatives for a visit and planned to return Sunday.

Christmas Tree Sought For Local Presbyterian Church

Community members are urged to spare a Christmas tree for the church as plans for a Christmas program unfold. Sunday School teachers will meet with Mr and Mrs Palmer next Tuesday to study church history organization and program and invites anyone interested to join.

Thanksgiving Visitors Dot Hollenberg Area

Community members hosted and visited relatives over Thanksgiving with attendances from Fairbury Reynolds Simon Lincoln and other towns. George Martin, long time resident, died in a Kearney sanitarium and was laid to rest in Hollenberg. funeral held Friday in the M E church. Mrs. Onke Franzen recovered from illness and resumed activities.

Farmers to Receive Wheat Benefit Payments Soon

Local wheat contracts in the state were sent to Washington with 96 percent of applications completed. About 43 844 acres and 780 701 bushels of wheat will yield more than $115 000 in benefits, around $35 000 arriving soon. Final costs are projected near one cent per bushel. Deadline for signing contracts is December 15.

Death of Edwin William-Lohse ends a 12 year life

After a long illness Edwin William Lohse died December 7 at his parents' home southwest of Steele City. He was 12 years, 8 months and 10 days old. Funeral services will be at State Line church. The report notes his brief recovery followed by a decline in health.

Kensington Club Plans Christmas Party in December

The B. B. K's met with Mrs. Edna Clark on Tuesday November 2. Fifteen members and five guests attended. Out of town guests included Mesdames Kelly Jones Lipscomb and Haskell from Wymore. Roll call suggested a Christmas idea. The next meeting will be a Christmas party hosted by Mrs. Alice Gretzinger on Tuesday December 12, 1933.

Village Board met in adjourned session with Mayor Hughes presiding. Present were H J Fahrenwald Harry Allen Clarence Darling. Minutes read and approved. Bills listed for labor police duty grading and hauling supplies lights and other charges. Warrants approved. District No 1 election expense 24.87 paid. Beer license bill tabled to next meeting. Mrs Ray Cassell Returns Home From Odell Hospital

Mrs Ray Cassell who had been in Odell hospital about two weeks returned to her home on Thursday. A Thanksgiving dinner at the Hy Haddix home included A J Brabee and family from Tobias and John Thornburg and family from Western.
