Local Residents Return From Holidays Trips
Ray Wells and wife came home Tuesday after a three week vacation in Greeley Colorado with Mrs. Wells’ father Mr Benoit. Eunice Garber returned from Lincoln General Hospital Sunday and is recovering after her operation. Alfred Drexier and family drove to Barneston last Thursday for Thanksgiving with friends, a party of about fifty attendees.

Community members hosted and visited relatives over Thanksgiving with attendances from Fairbury Reynolds Simon Lincoln and other towns. George Martin, long time resident, died in a Kearney sanitarium and was laid to rest in Hollenberg. funeral held Friday in the M E church. Mrs. Onke Franzen recovered from illness and resumed activities.
Farmers to Receive Wheat Benefit Payments Soon
Local wheat contracts in the state were sent to Washington with 96 percent of applications completed. About 43 844 acres and 780 701 bushels of wheat will yield more than $115 000 in benefits, around $35 000 arriving soon. Final costs are projected near one cent per bushel. Deadline for signing contracts is December 15.

Death of Edwin William-Lohse ends a 12 year life
After a long illness Edwin William Lohse died December 7 at his parents' home southwest of Steele City. He was 12 years, 8 months and 10 days old. Funeral services will be at State Line church. The report notes his brief recovery followed by a decline in health.

Kensington Club Plans Christmas Party in December
The B. B. K's met with Mrs. Edna Clark on Tuesday November 2. Fifteen members and five guests attended. Out of town guests included Mesdames Kelly Jones Lipscomb and Haskell from Wymore.
