Boiler Explosion Destroys Pendleton Car Sta Boiler
A boiler in the Pendleton street car stables exploded this afternoon. Engineer Bryan Leen and a painter were badly scalded, a horse was killed, and the boiler twelve feet long and forty inches in diameter was hurled through the roof about fifty feet, injuring the roof on its descent. The engine crew were not required. The engineer had just tested the boiler and found the water level flush with the scope.
