London and Paris also note France’s internal dissent as Lyonese oppose a new municipal law, prompting several council resignations. England plans 2 million dollars in paintings for Vienna Exposition, with 500 paintings from Trance and 300 statues from Italy.
Local notes report Patrick Price an Eighth Ward rioter will be examined on the fifteenth regarding his role in the disturbance. He appeared before the Police Court. Thomas Finn was convicted on his son’s testimony for drunkenness and sent to the Workhouse for one month by Judge Straub this morning. Prosecuting Attorney Campbell appeared with a cheerful smile. Andrew Mayer was fined 15 dollars for abusing policemen after remarks by Judge Straub. Felix Day received one month in the Workhouse for disorderly conduct. Michael Stoneman, labeled a wife beater, was sentenced to three months in the Workhouse. August Smith, who “works four days and burns two,” got one week in the Workhouse for disorderly conduct.

Howard Anderson eldest son of Mrs C C Anderson living nearby died yesterday after a brief illness of spotted fever or cerebro spinal meningitis He was fifteen possessed of intelligence and kindness Funeral services will be held at the Anderson residence on Thursday at 11 o clock AM.
Covington officials review sites with Architect Mullett. Five commissioners favor the Third and Scott corner, two favor Pike and Russell, one backs Ninth and Madison. An afternoon meeting at John Marshall’s office on Fifth and Madison will decide. A fire damaged J R Lamb’s roof, about 25 dollars loss. Mrs Shoemaker suffered burns while trying to light a coal-oil fire on Eleventh Street.
Chancery Court hears the Saratoga street property holders case against the Short-line Railroad Company. Work resumes on the Neene ond road reservoir to pumping, and proceeds vigorously to completion. The Red Men's Hall gains improved appearance with new paint. Frederick Miller on Front street is arrested for chasing iron stolen from Gaylord's foundry. Meg jail prisoner Wincliffe is brought before the Mayor daily and fined 250 for contempt for refusing to work on the stone pile. Cliffe has been fined repeatedly for the same offense and remains without funds.
The election passed quietly. A. A. Thomas was elected City Solicitor by a 500 plus majority. Sam Clay and Emanuel Shultz were elected Delegates to the Constitutional Convention. Democrats hold six Deo seats and Republicans sixteen. Nine Democrats and 138 Republicans were elected to the School Board. Ezra oe Bsn won Street Commissioner, Jonathan Renney Waterworks Trustee and A C Hurlbt for Fire Chief by bipartisan votes. Dennisee and John Deisene elected Constables, Butt Pn elected infirmary rector with strong majorities. Squire Meyer of Jackson was elected Clerk of the township for his eighteenth term.

Lawder with 80 votes, against Marshak. city officials chosen include George Mangarares as Commissioner and M Shaler as Engineer. two waterworks seats filled by O'Brien and others. council seats, assessor, and ward posts also decided with varying tallies.
