Joliet to March Memorial Day With Large Parade
The war dead of Joliet will be honored on Memorial Day next Wednesday as civic groups unite to pay public respects. More than 1500 will march in a 1:30 p.m. parade with eight divisions led by local bands, followed by services at the river and courthouse yard. Committees led by W. H. Heun coordinate parade, bands, graves decoration, and post ceremonies.

Woman Killed in Jefferson Bluff Crash
Mrs. Marion Coder a 57 year old woman was killed and her husband Herman 48 was seriously injured when struck by a truck driven by Albert Heinle 610 Taylor street at the Jefferson and Bluff streets intersection around 11 PM Motorists rushed them to St. Josephs hospital where Mrs. Coder died shortly after arrival The driver was detained by Capt James McCraney awaiting the coroner's jury action.
